Position Description



POSITION TITLE:          High School Agriculture Teacher


FLSA:                             Exempt


QUALIFICATIONS:        Must hold proper state certification


REPORTS TO:              Principal and/or other Supervisor


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  240 day contract.





  1. To provide students with a course of study in Agriculture related occupations and facilitate the students transition into the world of work.
  2. To provide an effective and meaningful learning experience in agriculture through the use of varied materials, tools, equipment and teaching techniques.
  3. To demonstrate and maintain effective communication with students and promote a positive self-image in all students.
  4. To consistently develop written lesson plans for the implementation of instructional programs for the specific assignment in accordance with district guidelines and course objectives.
  5. Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others.
  6. Performs other related duties as assigned.


  1. Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
  2. Attend meetings and performs duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
  3. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  4. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
  5. Serve on committees as assigned.
  6. Remain current on instructional practices in education.  (e.g. instructional technology)
