POSITION TITLE:          Middle School Band Director 


FLSA:                             Exempt


QUALIFICATIONS:        Must hold proper state certification


REPORTS TO:              Principal and/or other Supervisor


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  203 day contract.





                Berryville Public Schools is looking for a Middle School band director. The director’s duties would include teaching multiple beginning 6th grade woodwind and brass classes. The director would also be the lead conductor and administrator of the Middle School symphonic band, a full instrumentation ensemble with a history of superior ratings at contest. The director will work closely with the Director of Bands towards the success of the high school band program, both marching and concert. They will act in both an instructional and logistical capacity for the high school program, with various teaching, organizational, and conducting duties that will change throughout the school year. Other duties will include fundraising, beginning band recruitment, and other administrative duties involving the middle school band program. 



  1. Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
  2. Attend meetings and performs duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
  3. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  4. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
  5. Serve on committees as assigned.
  6. Remain current on instructional practices in education.  (e.g. instructional technology)
