Position Title: Classroom Teacher – 1st or 2nd
Qualifications: Must hold proper Arkansas certification
Reports to: Principal/Assistant Principal
Terms of Employment: 190 days with benefits provided according to Siloam Springs School Board policies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Plan and prepare lessons aligned with instructional standards
Collaborate with other teachers in professional learning communities
Assess accomplishments of students and provide progress reports as required
Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
Create positive educational climate for students.
Establish classroom behavior expectations and procedures
Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress
Effectively implement district initiatives
Refer students for alternative services as provided by the district (ESL, Special Education, GT, etc.)
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations
Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
Serve on committees as assigned.
Remain current on instructional practices in education.
