PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. The job goal is to assist the teacher to provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials. 2. Administers, scores, and records such achievement and diagnostic tests as the teacher recommends for individual students. 3. Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher. 4. Operates and cares for equipment or computers used in the classroom. 5. Distributes and collects instructional materials and papers for instruction. 6. Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher. 7. Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, recess and field trips. 8. Keeps bulletin board and other classroom learning displays up-to-date. 9. Assists students in the library or media center. 10. Listens to and drills students in reading, spelling, mathematics, and other subjects according to instructions and guidance from the regular classroom teacher and Title I program. 11. Keeps records on students as required for a particular program under the direction of the teacher, principal, or Federal Programs Coordinator. Section 8-167 12. Participates in in-service training programs, as assigned. 13. Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as in expected of fully licensed teachers. 14. Complies will all local board policies. 15. Complies with all state and federal laws related to this position. 16. Supervise classes (both Special Ed. and regular) during Special Ed. conferences. 17. All other duties as assigned.
