Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:                         

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher preferred
  • Experience in Google Suites preferred
  • Experience in general office work
  • Accurately type 55 WPM
  • Personal computer experience
  • Self-motivated and task oriented

 

REPORTS TO:     Director of Special Education

 

JOB GOAL:         To ensure timely and accurate reporting of all student and personnel  information required for district and state reporting.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Coordinate with special education personnel to obtain special education data on all students who are receiving early intervention services, special education services, referred for special education services or being dismissed from special educational services.
  2. Maintain a variety of files, documents, and student records for the purpose of documenting and/or providing reliable current information.
  3. Serve as a resource to employees and/or organization for the purpose of interpreting and conveying appropriate procedures required for data collection and/or entry.
  4. Assist with monitoring district-wide special education data collection.
  5. Assist the Director of Special Education with coordinating district wide procedures for special education data collection.
  6. Assist the Director of Special Education in collecting data required for the PCSSD Desegregation Plan.
  7. Maintain special education data accurately, up to date and provide reports when requested.
  8. Ability to organize material and format standards and to verify facts, dates and statistics with appropriate departments/schools.
  9. Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments and schools.
  10. Ability to perform clerical work involving use of independent judgment, requiring application of considerable knowledge of school/district policies.
  11. Ability to perform secretarial and administrative support functions requiring independent judgment and decision-making and problem solving skills.
  12. Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  13. Perform physical requirements which may include: moderate degree of physical stamina, ability to use a telephone, computer and other office equipment for an extended period of time.
  14. Exhibit confidentiality, initiative, creativity and enthusiasm in performing job functions.
  15. Assist in troubleshooting problems dealing with eSchool database programs.
  16. Prepare required documentation (sole source and multiple source of funding forms) for employees being paid by federal funds for auditing purposes.
  17. Assist with department recordkeeping and filing of student due process records.
  18. Assist with record requests.
  19. Cross train and support other clerical staff within the department.
  20. Organize and submit documents to approved state personnel for state and federal reporting and audits.
  21. Participate in professional development both in/out of district.
  22. Participate in work activities outside of work hours upon request and approval.
  23. Participate in district travel to/from for department related duties upon request.
  24. Manage other department student record databases for the district.
  25. Monitor timelines required by IDEA.
  26. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

 

Salary Range:                   Range 6 - Support Staff Hourly Salary Schedule ($12.18/hour - $23.60/hour depending on relevant experience)

Length of Contract:          244 contract days

FLSA Status:                     Non-Exempt

Personnel Status:             Classified

 

 

EVALUATION

 

Performance of this job will be evaluated with provisions of the board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Staff Personnel.
