Job Description

Position Type: 5th Grade Mathematics

Location: Greenbrier Eastside Elementary



1. Valid Arkansas Teaching License

2. Must have one of the following:

1-6th Elementary or 4-8th Middle Level Math (experience preferred but not required)


Job Description This position is responsible for providing instruction and support designed to prepare students for current and future success.



1 Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis

2 Teaches District approved curriculum daily

3 Implement school or district curricular goals

4 Participate in all prescribed professional development programs and activities

5 Develops lesson plans and instructional materials

6 Provides individualized and small group instruction to differentiate for the needs of each student daily

7 Create and maintain a classroom environment that is conducive and appropriate to learning in both appearance and activities

8 Motivate students to learn

9 Carries out lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences daily

10 Guides the learning process toward the achievement of learning objectives and curriculum goals daily

11 Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, etc, and communicates these objectives to students

12 Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities daily

13 Assists students in establishing and maintaining standards of behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere daily

14 Progress monitor students' growth (academic/social/behavior) and report monitoring data

15 Communicate with students and parents on student progress on a continuous basis

16 Actively participates on content and/or grade level team(s) within the school

17 Participate in collegial and professional activities within the school and District

18 Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations

19 Develop and administer content specific assessments for the purpose of assessing student competency levels

20 Instruct students for the purpose of improving their success in academics through a defined course of study

21 Maintain personal safety of students

22 Respond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and /or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution

23 Ensure that substitutes will have all information necessary for effective instruction

24 Follow state, district, and school policies and expectations

25 Other duties as assigned.
