Job Description

Newport High School is in search of an RN/Certified LPN to teach courses in health specialties, in fields such as Medical Terminology, First Responder, and Foundations of Health Care.  Anatomy and Physiology can also be taught if applicant has a bachelor’s degree.  Must have the ability to work with students at the specified age level with diverse backgrounds and levels of ability toward accomplishing their educational goals. Applicant will be required to have a working familiarity with assistive technologies, internet, email systems, and learning management systems designed for educational software.  Will be required to work with the state department, local hospital and doctor offices and in close conjunction with Arkansas State University at Newport for the CNA program.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Applicant must be a licensed LPN or higher
  • Desire and ability to work with students at the specified age level with diverse backgrounds and levels of ability toward accomplishing their educational goals.
  • Ability to organize tasks and manage time to meet many and varied deadlines; manage small and large groups of students in a classroom environment; and communicate effectively with students, parents, school administrators and other staff, including the ability to discuss topics which may be sensitive.
  • Working familiarity with assistive technologies; internet and email systems; and word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software.
  • Familiarity with computers (Apple) and their use in instruction to enhance student learning.
  • Working knowledge of various office and video equipment.
