Job Description

SUMMARY: The Early Childhood Special Education Teacher will provide direct therapy and consultative services to children between the ages of three to five that meet rules and regulations for special education services that includes all LRE options which is regulated by the IEP. The Early Childhood Special Education Teacher will follow all due process rules and regulations and EC Coop procedures that include clerical duties which include daily travel to multiple sites.


Assists with identification and evaluation of children.

Develops and implements an IEP for all students and follows due process law and procedures for best practice.

Prepares materials for goals and objectives.

Collects data and monitors each child’s progress by percentage data and/or summary of note data, depending on the LRE setting.

Assists with transition procedures.

Maintains confidentiality of children.

Complies with standards of the local school district.

Follows child care licensing regulations.

Follows Early Childhood Arch Ford procedures and maintains confidentiality.

Adheres to job descriptions as defined by the ADE Program Standards.


Educational degree in a B.S.E. or higher in early childhood special education for 3-5 year olds
Experience with collaboration of team members

Demonstrates best practices for students

Strong verbal and written skills

Organizational skills, flexibility, and willing to transcend with current educational methodologies

Arkansas certification with initial or standard teaching license

Past experience working with special education or preschool special education

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The employee will be required to lift heavy educational supplies and/or files daily inside and outside of sites. The employee will be required to travel daily to multiple sites with different types of weather conditions unless a district is closed due to inclement weather. The employee will be required to stand, sit, bend, or stoop for extended periods of time due to sitting in a student chair or sitting in the floor to complete therapy. The employee will be required at times to work with students in indoor and outdoor settings that require physical activity to model gross motor activities to improve gross motor progress.

Public school benefits and holidays apply. Travel is required. 190 day contract
