Academics Plus Charter Schools, Inc. (APCSI) is seeking an innovating and qualified Assistant Principal to join our team for the 2022-2023 school year.
POSITION TITLE: Assistant Principal
QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Arkansas certification as Elementary/Secondary Principal
(Grades: K-12) preferred
Master’s Degree in Education Leadership or related field
Minimum of three years teaching experience
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB GOALS: Assist the building principal in organizing and fostering a positive, safe environment that is conducive to best meeting the needs of all students, staff and parents. This includes such responsibilities as: leading, directing, counseling, and supervising a variety of personnel and programs; creating effective parent, teacher, child communications, supporting, encouraging, mentoring, and evaluating staff; fostering teamwork between teachers and among staff and parents; and managing budget items.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrate relentless commitment to academic achievement of all students.
Demonstrate effective customer service strategies to all district patrons.
Foster collegiality and team building among staff; encourage their active involvement in the decision-making process.
Supervision with Faculty/Staff - Assist in: hiring/orientation; evaluating; working through concerns and classroom management; planning and directing meetings, staff development, trainings and in-services; communication: listening, feedback, and encouragement for all staff.
Supervision with students - Assist in: orientation; counseling; discipline; due process; data gathering; student recognition; and securing student services with outside agencies.
Communication and public relations with parents, business leaders and community members. Listen and respond to parent concerns with sensitivity.
Curriculum/Instruction - Assist in: selection, training and implementation of district standards and initiatives; scheduling; implementation of goals and selection of instructional materials. Analyze test data, determine ways to improve instruction and student goals.
Ensure that school rules are uniformly observed and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable in accordance with the student handbook.
Conduct conferences with parents, students, and teachers concerning school and student issues.
Communicate positively with students, parents, visitors and staff.
Effectively and positively communicate orally and in writing
Maintain a positive attitude and represent the school in a positive manner at all times.
All other duties as assigned.

Mental Demands: Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures and data; coordinate campus functions; maintain control under stress; ability to manage others in a non-coercive manner; maintain a clear focus on customer service.
Physical Demands: Occasional district and state-wide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
